Jacky Lubeck, American by birth and Jan Willemsen, Dutch, run a Theatre Group in Palestine. I have known them for years now. They work together with Palestinian actors, soemtimes young kids, acting for the first time in their lives, and always the themes are about Palestinian life, life under occupation.
\nWe do not meet often, because somhow when I’m in Gaza, they are in Hebron, and when I’m in Jerusalem, they are in Gaza, but we keep in touch.

Friends, Colleagues, Partners
\nIt’s a mess. Gaza is closed to us. Hebron is barricaded. But we are
\nstill able to work… Some kids are on emergency school schedules but
\nall are eager to have their Theatre Day and we are there. Attached is
\nthe announcement of the new play in Hebron ironically titled “The
\nUtopians.” It’s a splash of colour and music from the heart and soul
\nmixed into today’s reality.
\nWe also want to let you know that the house of TDP trainee Mahmoud Oudeh
\nwas detroyed last Thursday night. Mahmoud, his wife, and their 4 kids
\nare now living with other family members. They lost the whole house,
\ntheir car, and all their pocessions. IDF forces occupied the house next
\nto Mahmoud’s and “didn’t want any neighbours”. He was in his slippers
\nand pajamas when they told him, “Say bye bye to your house.”
\nUtopia?
\nWe are trying.
