Bij de bekendst geworden slachtoffers hoort de familie Samouni, die toen 29 leden van hun uitgebreide familie verloren. Het hoort bij de meest evidente oorlogsmisdaden: de familie was eerst bijeengedreven door het leger en in een van hun huizen opgesloten, waarna het huis werd gebombardeerd, en de familie nog lang moest wachten voordat medische hulp werd toegelaten voor de overlevenden.
