I write this message in English because I want our friends from Gaza to read it too. As some of you know, I live in Sakhnin, a Palestinian village in the Galilee. People here are so frustrated because they feel that they can not do anything to support the people of Gaza. But since three weeks, before this latest blockade began, in the villages around Sakhnin, Araba, Deir Hanna etc. a big campaign started to collect goods for the people of Gaza.
This inititative has been organized by the haraki Islamya (islamic movement) political parties and al kind of NGO’s. Now the situation is so bad, they decided to try to bring the first truck with goods to Gaza. It is a truck full with medicins, but many more goods are waiting to send of. Also today more then a hundred people, Palestinians from inside Israel, are heading to Erez to show their solidarity with all of you.
Last night we had a spontanic demonstration in the village of Araba. I hope that today I will receive some pictures and maybe I can put them on your website Anja. At three o’clock today there will be a demonstration at the Hebrew university in jerusalem from palestinian students.On saturday a big convoy with goods wil head also towards Erez plus demonstrations in many palestinians communities inside Israel. And people are giving.
Dear friends from Gaza, I know that these small initiatives cannot solve all the hardship you live with for already so many years. But I hope that this news will give you also some moral support.
